Surprise Me: A 30 Day Faith Experiment (book study) You are invited to be part of book study with others in nearby congregations as part of the Chisago County shared ministry initiative. Pastor Mary Kay Ashley of First Lutheran in Taylors Falls will be leading a 7-week study on the book "Surprise Me: A 30-Day Faith Experiment" by Terry Esau, which is about prayer and risking faith. When and where will this book study happen? That's something you can help determine. She will schedule it around those who would like to participate. She's available Wed afternoons, Wed eves, Thurs eves, Fri eves, Sat afternoons or Sun afternoons for 1 1/2 hours discussion sessions. The location will be set by those who sign up - it could rotate between places or be held at one consistent place agreed on by participants. The book is free and so are refreshments, thanks to a grant from the St. Paul Area Synod. The grant was provided to First Lutheran in Taylors Falls for the purpose of "building relationships between those in our membership and those outside our membership, in our community, we trust that we will learn and grow. Even as a book study ends, we trust there will be other ways people want to work, worship, learn and have fun together. The relationships will be the sustainable part, especially if we are careful to build them with loving and respectful communication." To learn more or to sign up, contact Pastor Mary Kay by phone at 612-532-7083 or email at felcpastormk@gmail.com. She will also be explaining more about it at the shared ministry dinner meeting (NEW DATE) Monday evening, May 7 at Zion Lutheran, 5 - 7 PM. You are welcome and encouraged to come to this dinner meeting as well.
